A new Koh Tonsay Tourism Port about 4km away from Kep province's mainland is set for construction on October 16, 2021 and expected to take 15 months to complete.
Located on the Koh Tonsay Island, the $1.6M port is funded by ADB's Greater Mekong Sub-region Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project phase II and will be constructed by local firm Vimean Chey Group.The new port construction date was revealed during the meeting on Thursday 30 September between Kep provincial administration, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Public Works and Transports, Ministry of Tourism, ADB, and contracting firm.
It is worth noting that at present Kep has been constructing another Koh Tonsay Tourism Port with its progress 75% completed. This port is located on the Kep province’s mainland with a completion date expected soon.
