The Royal Government has laid up a major action plan for 2022-2023, with six Siem Reap zones identified as key destinations for luring more tourists.

The six priority areas in Siem Reap include

 1 . Preah Jayavarman-Norodom National Park or Kulen Mountain

 2 . surrounding areas of Bateay Srey Protected Area

 3 . Angkor Heritage Site

 4 . Siem Reap City

 5 . Tonle Sap Lake Area 

 6 . New Siem Reap Tourist Site

HE Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, discussed the short-term strategy for developing new tourism goods and services with the attracting innovation, variety, quality, reasonable price, safety, and excellent hospitality in the six priority areas. Improve service quality and create a package vacation to Siem Reap at a reasonable price for both local and international tourists to commemorate Cambodia Visit 2023. (Visit Cambodia Year 2023).

The master plan outlines Siem Reap's objective as a "attractive quality international tourist destination with high quality, tourism resources, and worldwide recognition for the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage and natural environment." And visitors keep returning, contributing to local economic growth, poverty reduction, and climate change response.

It should be mentioned that in the first half of 2022, Siem Reap attract over 60,000 international visitors, representing a 1,025 percent increase over the same period in 2021, as well as more than 1 million local tourists, or a 798 percent increase. There were 387 flights to Siem Reap in the first half of 2022.

Siem Reap is expected to welcome more than 100,000 international tourists in 2022 and 500,000 in 2023, accounting for one-quarter of all international tourists visiting Cambodia. While more than 2 million national visitors are expected to visit Siem Reap in 2022, and over 4 million in 2023.

This is an indication of the return of visitors, which is encouraging both national and foreign investors, offering optimism that Siem Reap is still an excellent place to invest in real estate.
