When renting a house or property in Cambodia, check the rental terms carefully based on your budget and core plans. Verify the purpose of renting a house; do you rent to live or to do a business, or a short-term stay?

Most landlords don't want to rent out if you want to rent a house for less than 6 months. And in terms of long-term contracts, we see that it can be difficult to make decisions, especially for foreigners, most of whom come to stay temporarily, and therefore always find it difficult to decide.

However, with long-term leases, we can reap some core benefits! 

The first is the power to negotiate more prices, as landlords are more likely to be able to reduce rental rates. You can also request as many items and furniture as possible. This is because landlords will not have to worry about repairs and maintenance because there are long-term tenants.

On the other hand, long-term leases give you the advantage that you do not have to worry about moving to a new place to rent or worry about rising rents. And you can have the right to renovate your home as you like. Having the right terms in the lease will give you more rights to talk to the landlord.

When it comes to short-term leases (less than 6 months), you cannot get a bargain that offers many benefits. In particular, you have to worry about the rental rate, usually the rent will be expensive and the price can fluctuate frequently. 

As mentioned earlier, long-term or short-term leases depend on your personal reasons and to the best of your ability. But before signing a lease, whether long-term or short-term, you must consider carefully.
